If Trees Could Talk

"I know what you've done" said the tree.

"Of course you do", said I.

"Eight years go by in a flash" said the tree.

"Of course they do" said I.

"Remember when you swam beneath me?" said the tree.

"Of course I do"  said I.

"Remember the Hot Tamales?" said the tree.

"Of course I do" said I.

"Do you drink as much these days?" said the tree.

"Of course I don't" said I.

"I guess we've both grown older" said the tree.

"Of course we have" said I.
